DATE

2017

PRESENTERS
Constance Avery-Clark, PH.D.
Linda Weiner, MSW, LCSW

LOCATION
APA Annual Conference
Washington D.C.

Description

Discover, develop, renew, and update your knowledge of Sensate Focus (the foundation of sex therapy) for a diverse client population. Re-examine the value of Sensate Focus for working with couples’ intimacy, relationship, and sexual concerns, and explore its association with mindfulness practice. Linda Weiner, MSW, LCSW, and Constance Avery-Clark, Ph.D., will go beyond what has been published by Masters & Johnson, presenting later clinical applications for LGBTQIA, kink/poly populations, trauma survivors, Spectrum couples, and others. The workshop will include suggestions for the use of Sensate Focus 1 with sexually distressed clients as opposed to the use of Sensate Focus 2 with those seeking to optimize their intimate and sexual relationship. Update your conceptualizations and skills, and join the conversation!

About The Conference

For three days, under one roof, every year, the APA Exhibit Hall provides a unique opportunity for exhibitors to engage with thousands in the psychology market who seek available products, services, and resources to assist them in their work; connect with their current customers and identify new ones; gather useful data about new product ideas and industry trends; and gain a competitive edge. In 2017, that opportunity takes on a historical dynamic as APA celebrates its 125th anniversary. Join us and become a part of this milestone event.

This was a workshop presented by the Institute for Sexual & Relationship Therapy & Training and the American Psychological Association.
